Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Software Tester to ensure software applications meet functional, performance, usability, and quality requirements. The candidate will be responsible for designing test cases, identifying defects, validating fixes, and working closely with developers and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
Understand business requirements, functional specifications, and technical documentation.
Prepare test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
Execute functional, regression, integration, system, and usability testing.
Identify, document, and track software defects using bug-tracking tools.
Perform defect retesting and verify fixes before release.
Conduct cross-browser and cross-device testing where required.
Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support.
Validate application functionality against defined requirements.
Perform API testing using tools such as Postman where applicable.
Execute basic database testing and validate data using SQL queries.
Collaborate with developers to reproduce and resolve defects.
Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Maintain test documentation and testing reports.
Perform regression testing after application changes and bug fixes.
Identify potential quality risks and communicate them to the QA Lead/Manager.
Support continuous improvement of testing processes and quality standards.
Assist in automation testing activities where applicable.
Key Skills & Technical Requirements
Required Skills Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC). Knowledge of manual testing techniques and test case preparation. Understanding of functional
regression
integration
system
and usability testing. Experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira
Bugzilla
or similar tools. Basic knowledge of SQL and database testing. Basic knowledge of API testing using Postman is an advantage. Knowledge of automation tools such as Selenium
Cypress
or Playwright is an advantage. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail. Good communication and documentation skills. Ability to work effectively with developers and cross-functional teams.
