Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Quality Control Chemist to conduct laboratory testing and analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and other materials. The candidate will ensure that products meet defined quality specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Perform chemical and physical analysis of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
Conduct testing as per approved SOPs, specifications, test methods, and quality standards.
Prepare samples, reagents, standard solutions, and laboratory materials.
Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
Record test results accurately in laboratory records and reports.
Verify results against approved specifications and report out-of-specification (OOS) results.
Conduct investigations for OOS, deviations, and abnormal test results.
Maintain laboratory documentation, worksheets, logbooks, and test reports.
Ensure proper sampling, labelling, storage, and handling of samples.
Perform calibration and routine checks of laboratory instruments as required.
Maintain laboratory cleanliness, safety, and good housekeeping standards.
Follow laboratory safety procedures and proper handling of chemicals.
Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits by providing required quality records.
Assist in method validation, method verification, stability studies, and other laboratory activities where applicable.
Coordinate with Production, Quality Assurance, Stores, and other departments regarding quality-related issues.
Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
Key Skills & Technical Requirements
Required Skills Strong knowledge of chemical analysis and laboratory testing procedures. Experience with instruments such as pH meter
UV-Visible Spectrophotometer
HPLC
GC
Karl Fischer
or other relevant instruments as applicable. Knowledge of wet chemistry
titration
assay
moisture
pH
and related analytical techniques. Good understanding of GLP
GMP
SOPs
OOS
deviation
and CAPA. Ability to interpret specifications and test results. Good documentation and laboratory record-keeping skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Good knowledge of MS Excel and laboratory/ERP systems. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good understanding of laboratory safety and chemical handling.
