A Store Keeper is responsible for maintaining a warehouse or storage facility’s inventory. Their primary goal is to ensure that all materials, supplies, and equipment are received, stored, tracked, and issued accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
📦 Inventory & Stock Management
✓Receiving Goods: Inspect all incoming materials for quality, quantity, and damage against delivery notes and Purchase Orders (PO).
Storage & Organization: Arrange materials in an orderly manner using a systematic labeling or Bin Card system to ensure easy retrieval and optimal space utilization.
✓Issuing Materials: Release stock to various departments based on authorized requisitions, ensuring proper documentation for every movement.
✓Stock Verification: Perform regular physical stock counts (monthly or quarterly) and reconcile them with digital records to identify and explain any discrepancies.
📠Documentation & Reporting
✓Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of all inward and outward entries in the Goods Received Note (GRN) and Material Issue Note (MIN).
✓Reorder Levels: Monitor stock levels closely and alert the Purchase Department when items reach their minimum reorder point to prevent stock-outs.
✓Reporting: Prepare weekly or monthly reports on stock valuation, slow-moving items, and expired or damaged goods.
