Senior Accountant
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee accounting operations, ensure financial accuracy, manage statutory compliance, and support strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, and accounting systems, with the ability to guide junior accounting staff and work closely with management.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
Maintain and oversee the general ledger, accounting records, and financial transactions.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting entries in accordance with accounting standards.
Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance metrics.
Prepare profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Supervise accounts payable and receivable processes.
Monitor outstanding payments and ensure timely collections.
Verify invoices, payment vouchers, and bank transactions.
Reconcile customer and vendor accounts regularly.
Taxation & Compliance
Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESIC, and other statutory requirements.
Prepare and review tax returns, reconciliations, and compliance reports.
Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
Maintain compliance documentation and support audits.
Budgeting & Financial Control
Assist in annual budgeting and financial forecasting activities.
Analyse financial data and provide recommendations for cost control and profitability improvement.
Monitor departmental expenditures and variance analysis.
Support management in strategic financial decision-making.
Team Management
Supervise and mentor junior accountants and accounts assistants.
Review accounting work for accuracy and compliance.
Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
Provide training on accounting standards and best practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
M.Com, CA Inter, CMA Inter, or equivalent qualification preferred.
5-10 years of accounting and finance experience.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Tally Prime, ERP systems, and MS Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience handling audits and statutory compliance independently.
Knowledge of ERP software such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Zoho Books.
Experience in budgeting, financial planning, and MIS reporting.
Professional certifications in Finance or Accounting.
