VMC/CNC Setter & Programmer
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented VMC/CNC Setter & Programmer with 1-2 years of experience in CNC machining operations. The candidate will be responsible for machine setup, CNC programming, tooling selection, process optimization, and ensuring the production of high-quality components as per engineering specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate VMC (Vertical Machining Center) and CNC machines for production.
Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs based on engineering drawings and specifications.
Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machine parameters.
Perform machine setting, tool offset adjustments, and trial runs before production.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and process sheets.
Monitor machining operations to ensure dimensional accuracy and product quality.
Conduct first-piece inspection and perform in-process quality checks.
Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance teams for smooth operations.
Maintain production records, machine logs, and quality documentation.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturing best practices.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce cycle time.
Required Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Tool Engineering, or a related field.
1-2 years of experience as a CNC Programmer, CNC Setter, VMC Operator, or Machining Technician.
Strong knowledge of CNC machine setup and programming.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
Familiarity with measuring instruments such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, and Bore Gauges.
Understanding of machining processes, cutting tools, feeds, and speeds.
