Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Job Summary
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of plant machinery, equipment, and utilities. The role focuses on preventive and breakdown maintenance, minimizing downtime, improving equipment efficiency, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for plant machinery and equipment.
Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and productivity.
Prepare and maintain maintenance schedules, records, and reports.
Coordinate with production teams to ensure smooth operation of equipment and minimize production interruptions.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
Manage spare parts inventory and ensure the availability of critical maintenance materials.
Supervise maintenance technicians, contractors, and service providers when required.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and maintenance procedures.
Support installation, commissioning, and validation of new machinery and equipment.
Monitor utility systems such as compressors, DG sets, HVAC systems, boilers, electrical panels, and water systems as applicable.
Participate in continuous improvement, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and cost-reduction initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
2 to 8 years of experience in maintenance engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Experience in troubleshooting industrial equipment and machinery.
Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance management systems (CMMS/ERP).
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and preventive maintenance practices.
Understanding of PLCs, automation systems, VFDs, sensors, and control systems.
Familiarity with utility equipment and plant infrastructure maintenance.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and team management abilities.
Ability to read engineering drawings and technical manuals.
