Job Title: CNC Laser Cutting Machine Operator
Job Summary
The CNC Laser Cutting Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC laser cutting machines to cut sheet metal and other materials according to engineering drawings, production schedules, and quality standards. The role ensures optimal machine performance, dimensional accuracy, productivity, and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines for production activities.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job orders.
Load raw materials and ensure proper machine alignment before operation.
Program machine parameters and optimize cutting settings based on material type and thickness.
Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards.
Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections of finished parts.
Measure and verify dimensions using measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Identify and troubleshoot machine, software, and cutting quality issues.
Perform routine preventive maintenance and cleaning of laser cutting equipment.
Minimize material wastage and maximize machine utilization.
Maintain production and quality records accurately.
Follow safety procedures, PPE requirements, and 5S workplace standards.
Required Qualifications
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
2-8 years of experience operating CNC Laser Cutting Machines in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of cutting parameters for different materials such as MS, SS, Aluminum, Copper, and Brass.
Experience using measuring and inspection tools.
Preferred Skills
Experience with laser cutting machines such as Trumpf, Bystronic, Amada, Bodor, Han’s Laser, Eagle, or similar brands.
Knowledge of CAD/CAM software and nesting software.
Understanding of material utilization and production planning.
Basic troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
