Job Title: CNC Press Brake (Bending) Operator
Job Summary
The CNC Press Brake (Bending) Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal components according to engineering drawings and production requirements. The role ensures product quality, dimensional accuracy, productivity, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC Press Brake machines for bending sheet metal parts.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
Select appropriate tooling, dies, and machine parameters for different bending operations.
Perform machine programming and make necessary adjustments to achieve required specifications.
Inspect finished components using measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and protractors.
Conduct first-piece and in-process quality inspections.
Ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance with customer specifications.
Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment issues promptly.
Maintain production records and complete job documentation accurately.
Follow workplace safety procedures, 5S standards, and quality requirements.
Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to achieve daily targets.
Required Qualifications
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
3-8 years of experience operating CNC Press Brake machines in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
Ability to read technical drawings and understand GD&T concepts.
Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and bending calculations.
Experience with CNC controller systems such as Amada, Trumpf, Bystronic, LVD, Yawei, or similar.
Familiarity with measuring instruments and quality inspection procedures.
Preferred Skills
Ability to perform machine setup independently.
Knowledge of nesting, tooling selection, and bend sequence optimization.
Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
