ITI Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated ITI Diesel Mechanic to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines and related mechanical systems. The candidate will ensure the efficient operation of vehicles, generators, construction equipment, or industrial machinery while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance and repair of diesel engines and equipment.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, fuel system, and hydraulic faults.
Service and overhaul diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and steering systems.
Inspect vehicles and machinery to identify operational issues.
Replace defective components and perform necessary adjustments.
Conduct routine checks on fuel, lubrication, cooling, and exhaust systems.
Maintain service records, repair logs, and maintenance reports.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and workshop standards.
Coordinate with supervisors and operators regarding maintenance requirements.
Minimise equipment downtime through timely repairs and preventive maintenance.
Required Qualifications
ITI Certificate in Diesel Mechanic Trade.
1-5 years of experience in diesel engine maintenance and repair.
Knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, and mechanical components.
Ability to read technical manuals and service documents.
Understanding of workshop tools, equipment, and safety practices.
Preferred Skills
Experience in commercial vehicles, heavy equipment, generators, or construction machinery.
Basic knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
