Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Fitter responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical components, machinery, and equipment as per engineering drawings and required specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Perform fitting, assembly, installation, and maintenance of mechanical components.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, measurements, and specifications.
Perform cutting, grinding, drilling, filing, tapping, and other fitting operations.
Assemble machine parts, structures, equipment, and mechanical assemblies.
Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments safely and effectively.
Check dimensions and alignment of components using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, gauges, and other instruments.
Identify mechanical defects and assist in troubleshooting and repairs.
Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance activities as required.
Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and fitting of machinery and components.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition.
Follow safety procedures, PPE requirements, and workplace standards.
Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams to resolve technical issues.
Maintain basic records of maintenance and fitting activities.
Key Skills & Technical Requirements
Strong knowledge of fitting and mechanical assembly work. Ability to read engineering drawings. Hands-on experience with hand tools and power tools. Knowledge of basic mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting. Good understanding of measurements and tolerances. Knowledge of welding or fabrication will be an advantage. Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently as well as in a team. Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
