Duty Medical Officer (DMO)
Job Summary
The Duty Medical Officer is responsible for providing primary medical care to patients, handling emergency cases, monitoring patient treatment, and coordinating with consultants and nursing staff to ensure quality healthcare services. The role requires prompt clinical decision-making, patient assessment, and adherence to hospital protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Examine, diagnose, and provide treatment to patients as per clinical protocols.
Attend emergency and casualty cases and provide immediate medical care.
Monitor admitted patients and maintain accurate medical records.
Coordinate with specialist doctors and consultants regarding patient management.
Prescribe medications, diagnostic tests, and treatment plans as required.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies and code situations.
Supervise and guide nursing and paramedical staff during assigned shifts.
Ensure proper documentation of patient history, examination findings, and treatment provided.
Conduct ward rounds and monitor patient progress.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, medical ethics, and regulatory requirements.
Provide patient and family counseling regarding treatment plans and medical conditions.
Assist in infection control and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
MBBS degree from a recognized medical institution.
Valid State Medical Council Registration.
Completion of internship as per regulatory requirements.
0-5 years of clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
