Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, statutory compliance, and financial controls. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, supporting audits, managing taxation matters, and providing financial insights to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure timely and accurate closure of books of accounts.
Review journal entries, ledger balances, and account reconciliations.
Monitor and maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.
Analyse financial performance and prepare management reports.
Taxation & Compliance
Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, Professional Tax, and other statutory regulations.
Prepare and review statutory returns and filings.
Coordinate with tax consultants, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
Keep abreast of changes in accounting standards and tax laws.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Supervise accounts payable and receivable processes.
Monitor outstanding receivables and vendor payments.
Ensure timely reconciliations of customer and supplier accounts.
Audit & Internal Controls
Coordinate internal, statutory, tax, and cost audits.
Prepare audit schedules and provide supporting documentation.
Strengthen financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies.
Identify and mitigate financial risks.
Budgeting & Financial Analysis
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
Monitor budget utilisation and analyse variances.
Provide recommendations to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
Support management in financial planning and decision-making.
Team Management
Guide and mentor junior accounting staff.
Review work performed by accountants and account assistants.
Allocate tasks and monitor team performance.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5 to 8 years of relevant accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and statutory compliance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software such as Tally Prime, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent.
Thorough understanding of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and financial regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
M.Com, CA Inter, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification.
Experience in manufacturing or industrial accounting.
Knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and fixed asset management.
Experience working with ERP systems and MIS reporting.
