Incoming Material Quality Inspector
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Incoming Material Quality Inspector to ensure that all incoming raw materials, components, and purchased parts meet specified quality standards and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting incoming materials, verifying supplier quality, maintaining inspection records, and supporting quality assurance initiatives to ensure smooth production operations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform incoming material inspections as per inspection plans, drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Verify dimensions, material specifications, and visual quality of incoming materials and components.
Conduct sampling inspections based on established quality procedures.
Use measuring instruments such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, and other inspection tools.
Identify, document, and report non-conforming materials to the Quality and Purchase departments.
Coordinate with suppliers regarding quality issues and corrective actions when required.
Maintain inspection records, reports, and material traceability documentation.
Ensure proper segregation and identification of accepted, rejected, and hold materials.
Support supplier quality evaluation and vendor performance monitoring activities.
Monitor calibration status of inspection equipment and measuring devices.
Assist in internal audits, quality improvement projects, and corrective action implementation.
Ensure compliance with company quality policies, ISO standards, and customer requirements.
Required Qualifications
Diploma or ITI in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
1 to 5 years of experience in Incoming Quality Control (IQC) or Quality Inspection.
Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Knowledge of quality inspection methods and sampling techniques.
Hands-on experience with measuring instruments and quality documentation.
Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Office.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other quality management systems.
Experience in automotive, engineering, machining, fabrication, or manufacturing industries.
Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Knowledge of 7 QC Tools, CAPA, PPAP, and supplier quality processes.
Experience with ERP systems and quality management software.
