Job Summary
The Education Counsellor is responsible for guiding prospective students and parents on educational programmes, admissions processes, career pathways, and academic opportunities. The role involves counselling, student engagement, lead conversion, relationship management, and ensuring a positive admission experience while helping students make informed educational decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Counsel prospective students and parents regarding courses, programmes, admissions requirements, and career opportunities.
Understand student needs, interests, academic backgrounds, and career aspirations to recommend suitable educational options.
Handle enquiries through phone calls, emails, walk-ins, online platforms, and counselling sessions.
Convert student enquiries into admissions by effectively communicating programme benefits and career prospects.
Maintain regular follow-up with prospective students throughout the admission process.
Assist students with application forms, documentation, and enrolment procedures.
Conduct career guidance sessions, seminars, webinars, and educational presentations.
Build and maintain relationships with students, parents, educational institutions, and other stakeholders.
Maintain accurate records of enquiries, counselling sessions, admissions, and student interactions in CRM systems.
Achieve admission and enrolment targets assigned by management.
Stay updated on educational trends, course offerings, scholarship opportunities, and industry developments.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Business Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, or a related field.
1 to 3 years of experience in education counselling, student recruitment, admissions, customer service, or sales.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and counselling abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
Ability to manage multiple student enquiries and deadlines effectively.
Preferred Skills
Experience in educational institutions, coaching centres, training institutes, or ed-tech organisations.
Knowledge of admission procedures, education systems, and career counselling practices.
Strong persuasion, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
Ability to handle student concerns with empathy and professionalism.
Fluency in English and regional language(s).
