Testing Quality Executive

Key Responsibilities and Duties

This role requires a blend of hands-on testing and process-level assurance.

I. Quality Planning & Strategy

• ✓ Develop Test Plans: Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, test procedures, and test scripts based on product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• ✓ Methodology Alignment: Ensure that testing processes align with the company’s development framework (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
• ✓ Test Environment Setup: Coordinate with DevOps/IT teams to set up and maintain necessary test environments and data.

II. Execution, Analysis, and Reporting

• ✓ Test Execution: Execute various types of testing, including:
• ✓ Functional Testing: System, Integration, and Regression testing to ensure features work as intended.
• ✓ Non-Functional Testing: Basic Performance, Load, and Security testing as required.

Defect Management:

Accurately identify, document, and report software defects (bugs) using a Defect Tracking Tool (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).

Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for critical defects and provide initial analysis to development teams for resolution.

Track defects through the full lifecycle until they are resolved and verified.

• ✓ Reporting: Prepare and communicate comprehensive quality reports, test summaries, and project status updates to project managers and stakeholders, highlighting risks and progress.

III. Quality Assurance & Process Improvement

• ✓ Process Audit: Participate in project planning and review meetings (like defect triage) to ensure quality is addressed early in the development cycle.
• ✓ Automation (Optional but Valued): Where applicable, contribute to the development and maintenance of automated test scripts using relevant tools to improve efficiency, particularly for regression testing.
• ✓ Compliance: Ensure all testing activities and products comply with internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
